In one of my previous blogs, I spoke about exercising and rediscovering how my love for dance can lead to weight loss and overall satisfaction with my health and wellbeing. I signed up for #BodyGroove and paid the $79 annual membership. Yes, I like the program, but I have not been eagerly anticipating doing the workouts at night like I assumed I would. Too many nights, it felt like work instead of fun. I do the exercises in my bedroom, and that could be some of the issues. There are other rooms in the house, but I do not feel comfortable enough to dance in front of other people.
A week ago, I searched on YouTube for exercise videos and ran across something about speed walking. I gave it a try, and I love it. It is called “Walk at Home” by Leslie Sansone. In the comfort of my own home, I can speed walk my way to a healthier body, and the best part is I look forward to doing it. Check her out if you are interested in working out at home without equipment. https://walkathome.com/ Her videos are also on YouTube if you do not want to pay for a membership.
Something else that is helping to motivate me is the activity app on my apple watch. It tracks my calories, exercise, and standing each day. I refuse to go to bed before all my bands are connected. That has me exercising at least six times a week. So now I dance twice a week and speed walk 4-5 times a week. Once a month, I will post pictures of my progress. I am excited about this.
